Train Tales
Every Friday morning at 10:30 at the Depot.
Grab the kiddos and join us on Fridays at 10:30 for Train Tales, a preschool storytime about trains, engines, tracks, conductors, engineers, firemen, rails, hobos, stations, signals, and lots of Thomas!
Cookeville Museums’ History Hike
2nd Saturday of May-October; 10:30 am-2:30 pm
The second Saturday of each month from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm, come HISTORY HIKE between the Cookeville Depot Museum and the Cookeville History Museum! Pick up your entry at either museum, find the answers to the trivia questions along Broad Street between the two museums and have the form back by 3:30 pm to be included in the prize drawing! If you like, you can do both hikes (Depot to History Museum and/or History Museum to Depot) each day. FREE, family fun from YOUR City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services!
Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series
Fridays in October 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series from 11:30am – 1:00pm Fridays in October, out on the eastside patio at the Depot. Come enjoy the beautiful autumn weather with lunch and some world-class entertainment. The concerts are free and lunches from Blue Coast Burrito are available for purchase on site.
Depot Christmas
First Saturday in December; 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (Santa’s cookie break is Noon-1pm)
The Depot Christmas open house will be on the first Saturday in December from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be visits with Santa,
treats, model trains, games, caroling with Cookeville’s Barbershop Harmony Society, and more! Don’t forget: 1. Your cameras. 2. Santa takes his cookie break from noon-1:00 pm. 3. Wish-list letters to drop in the mailbox for Santa to take back to the North Pole. Ho ho ho!
A limited number of visitors will be allowed entry into the Depot at a time. FREE ADMISSION!!!!
West Side Scavenger Hunts
Second Saturdays of January-March 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
The Depot is the home base for these fun,
family hunts—but you’ll meet our west side neighbors at our West Side Scavenger Hunts! Grab your digital or cell phone camera and come to the Depot Museum to get an entry form with photos and clues. Then, off you go to find the items in participating wonderful west side businesses, and replicate the photos shown on your entry form with your camera. When finished, bring your camera back to the Depot to be checked. (Take all the time you want between the hours of 10:30 am and 2:30 pm.) We will then draw for a winner of that week’s prize basket from all completed forms. More free, family fun from your Cookeville Leisure Services Department! Digital or cell phone camera required. *Play all you want, but you can only win once per year.
